Sophie Naue

Sophie Naue (Dr. Phil. / Dipl. Ing.) is an urban planner and innovation specialist with more than 15 years of experience bridging science and practice in international development and research. Her expertise lies at the intersection of informal urbanism, digital transformation, co-creation processes, and climate-resilient urban development in a global context. She has a strong track record in applied research and extensive international experience across Latin America, Sub-Saharan Africa, and Asia.
Since 2022, she has been a Senior Researcher at HafenCity University Hamburg and Principal Investigator at UNITAC (United Nations Innovation Technology Accelerator for Cities). In this role, she oversees UNITAC’s research activities, with a focus on participatory urban data solutions, applied research, and the implementation of sustainable data strategies in pilot cities globally.
