Data Narrator is a web-based GIS storytelling tool developed by the City Science Lab at HafenCity University Hamburg. As an add-on to the Masterportal platform, it allows users to enrich geospatial datasets with text, images, and multimedia content, facilitating the creation of narrative-driven maps.
Designed to make complex urban data more accessible, Data Narrator is particularly useful for planners, researchers, and community organisations aiming to communicate spatial information effectively. By integrating qualitative narratives with quantitative data, it supports inclusive urban planning and decision-making processes.
This tool is part of the Connected Urban Twins project, which focuses on developing digital twins for cities to enhance participatory planning and urban resilience.
